Lewis HamiltonThe battle to be crowned Formula One World Champion will go down to the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi thanks to Lewis Hamilton producing a trouble free drive in the midst of a heavy downpour at the Interlagos circuit in São Paulo, Brazil. The win is Hamilton's first in 10 attempts in Brazil and the perfect time for him to achieve that feat to keep himself in the hunt for the Drivers' Championship.

Hamilton cut Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg's lead at the top of the standings down to 12 points after a flawless performance in conditions that were far too treacherous for racing and saw a couple of drivers escape unhurt from what could have been potentially serious accidents and witnessed two stoppages and a large chunk of time spent behind the safety car.

Brazil coach Tite has called up Atletico Mineiro left-back Fabio Santos for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Peru in Lima on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old was drafted into the squad on Friday to replace Marcelo, who is suspended after receiving a yellow card in the Selecao's 3-0 victory over Argentina on Thursday. Santos has been capped three times for Brazil since his international debut in 2012.

Neymar scored a goal and set up another as Brazil heaped misery on Argentina with a 3-0 victory in their World Cup qualifier.

Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and Guangzhou Evergrande's Paulinho were also on target to ensure that Brazil maintained their one-point cushion at the top of the South American zone (CONMEBOL) standings on Thursday.

Brazil's star forward Neymar will not let an ongoing fraud case affect his form on the pitch, according to his national football team's winger Douglas Costa.

Spanish judge Jose de la Mata on Monday accepted a request by the Supreme Court to reopen the case against the 24-year-old, after original charges were dropped in July. Prosecutors have 10 days to formally request a trial.

Brazil will seek a slice of redemption when they meet Argentina in a World Cup qualifier here on Thursday, according to Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder Paulinho.

The fixture will be the Selecao's first at the Mineirao Stadium since their calamitous 7-1 semi-final defeat to Germany in the 2014 World Cup, a result widely described in Brazil as a national tragedy.

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has been sidelined from Brazil's squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Peru after failing to recover from a leg injury. The 24-year-old has not played since fracturing a fibula in Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Espanyol in La Liga on September 18,reports Xinhua on Friday.

Despite being sidelined, Casemiro was named in Brazil's 24-man squad in the hope of recovering in time for this month's qualifiers.
