Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal cruised to a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Austria's Dominic Thiem in the Barcelona Open final on Sunday, winning his 10th title at the clay-court event.

In a battle of top 10 players, world No.5 Nadal took out the world No.9 in just 90 minutes. After becoming the first player in the Open Era to win 10 Monte Carlo Masters titles, Nadal, a 14-time Grand Slam champion, repeated the feat just seven days later in Barcelona.

Spanish star Rafael Nadal jumped up two spots to be fifth in the men's Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles rankings released on Monday, while Briton Andy Murray continued to lead the list.

Nadal rose in the rankings after winning 6-1, 6-3 over his compatriot Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters final.

Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal won the Monte-Carlo Masters by defeating his countryman Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the final on Sunday to become the first player in the Open Era to have won 10 titles of the same tournament.

Nadal, regarded as one of the greatest clay-court players of all time, defeated 15th seed Ramos-Vinolas 6-1, 6-3 in 76 minutes and became the first player in the Open Era to win 10 Monte-Carlo Masters tournaments and 50 career clay-court titles.

Swiss great Roger Federer has jumped to fourth place in the mens' Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world singles rankings released on Monday after winning the Miami Open. Federer defeated Spanish Rafael Nadal in the final of the tennis tournament on Sunday.

British tennis player Andy Murray remained at the top of the ATP world singles rankings with 11,960 points. The 29-year-old Scot led the rankings for the first time in his career on November 7 and has kept the lead since.

Roger Federer won his third ATP World Masters 1,000 tourney at the Miami Open in Key Biscayne, Florida, once again defeating Spain's Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 34 minutes.

The Spaniard this year has lost all three of his confrontations with the Swiss champ, including the Australian Open final.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will play their 23rd final on Sunday after they defeated Australia's Nick Kyrgios and Italy's Fabio Fognini respectively in the semi-finals of the Miami Masters 1000 tennis championships on Friday.

Federer and Kyrgios, 21, were on Friday played an intense match that was decided in three tiebreakers, 7-6, 6-7, 7-6, while Nadal registered a confidence-boosting 6-1, 7-5 victory over Fognini to march into his fifth Miami final.

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer had to be at the top of his game to defeat Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut 7-6(5), 7-6(4) in the fourth round of the Miami Open. Bautista Agut was in excellent form and played at a very high level in the duel, but it wasn't enough to best the 4th-seeded Swiss powerhouse on Tuesday.

Federer had beaten Bautista five times previously without the Spaniard being able to take a set, and on Tuesday he continued with that dominant style, although he was not up to the form he had demonstrated so far this year. The two-time Miami champion produced 30 winners and 32 unforced errors, moving to the quarter-finals, where he will go up against the Czech Republic's Tomas Berdych.
