Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt's father has rubbished a media report that the Germany footballer has agreed terms to join Bayern Muncih. German media house Bild had reported last week that Bayern have reached an agreement with Brandt for a transfer fee of around $25 million.

The 20-year-old's current contract expires in 2019 but he would be available in the summer of 2018 for 12.5 million euros ($13.3 million) due to a release clause.

Bayern Munich chief coach Carlo Ancelotti on Friday said that ace goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will return to play no later than the first leg of the Champions League's quarter-finals against Real Madrid on April 12.

Ancelotti told a news conference that Neuer had a small problem in his toe during training on Wednesday.

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane commented on Friday that he thinks Real Madrid's Champions League quarter-final tie against Bayern Munich, currently under the guidance of former Spanish capital club coach Carlo Ancelotti, is evenly balanced.

The tie, which not only pits Madrid against a historic rival, sees them take on former coach Ancelotti, who led the Spanish side to their tenth European crown. The draw has given Madrid a slight advantage in that they play the first game in Munich with the return leg in front of their fans in the Santiago Bernabeu.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummingge has said that Joshua Kimmich, a reported transfer target of Manchester City, will be Philipp Lahm's successor as the Bavarian football club's right-back, although he has not earned many minutes so far this season.

Lahm will conclude his career at Bayern by the end of this season, just like Xabi Alonso who announced his retirement recently, while Kimmich; a multi-functional player, can play both in midfield or as a right-back.

Bayern Munich extended their lead on the table after beating Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0, while Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund suffered defeats in the 24th round in Bundesliga.

Robert Lewandowski's brace helped front-runners Bayern Munich to edge resilient Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 and to reap their third win in row on Saturday. However, it was hard work to overcome Frankfurt, who gave the visitors a tough time especially in the opening period.

Bayern Munich chief coach Carlo Ancelotti reportedly wants to sign Real Madrid's Colombian forward James Rodriguez, who is struggling for playing time at the capital club.

James starred in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and soon joined the Madrid giants who were then coached by Italian Ancelotti. While James had a fruitful maiden season, he has since fallen down the pecking order under current Madrid chief coach Zinedine Zidane, including this season.
