Brazil and Colombia will meet in an international friendly in January to raise money for those affected by last week's plane crash that devastated Brazil's Chapecoense football club. The match will be played on January 22 or 25 with the venue yet to be decided, according to a Brazilian football confederation (CBF) spokesman.

All proceeds from the fixture will be donated to families of those affected by the disaster. In addition, the CBF said it would donate five million reais (around 1.5 million US dollars) to the stricken club.

Goals from Ayo Akinola, Josh Sargent and Timothy Weah led the U.S Under-17 Men's National Team to a 3-0 victory against Brazil, clinching the 2016 Nike International Friendlies title on Sunday night at Premier Sports Campus. The championship marks the U-17 MNT's third Nike International Friendlies title since 2010 and first since 2013.

After two important first half saves from Justin Garces and a couple quality attacking chances, the U.S. broke through just before halftime when Akinola alertly chased down a ball over the top and forced a turnover before tucking home his fourth strike of the tournament in the 43rd minute.

Brazil have "turned the page" after their humiliating 1-7 World Cup semi-final loss to Germany on home soil in 2014, according to national coach Tite. They have won each of their six matches under Tite, who replaced Dunga after the team's group stage elimination at the Copa America in June.

"Turn the page is an expression that describes it well," the 55-year-old former Corinthians coach said on Monday. "We are starting a new chapter with the team in which we are qualifying for the World Cup and consolidating the team with a game plan that is efficient and beautiful."

Palmeiras clinched a record ninth Brazilian Serie A football title and their first since 1994 when they defeated Chapecoense 1-0. Defender Fabiano struck in the 26th minute at Allianz Parque stadium on Sunday to secure the title for the Sao Paolo club with one match still remaining.

Jubilant Palmeiras coach Alexi Stival paid tribute to his players and refused to be drawn on his future amid speculations he will leave the club.

Real Madrid defender Marcelo celebrated the 10th anniversary of his arrival at the Spanish football club with an interview on its official website on Wednesday.

Since arriving as an 18-year-old, Marcelo has made a total of 372 appearances in all competitions, while winning three Spanish leagues and two Champions Leagues among other titles.

Gabriel Jesus scored his fifth goal in six international matches as Brazil extended their lead at the top of the South American zone World Cup qualifying standings with a 2-0 victory over Peru here.

Jesus struck just before the hour-mark at the Estadio Nacional on Tuesday with a cool finish after Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho's piercing run into the penalty area. The 19-year-old Manchester City-bound striker then unselfishly set up Renato Augusto, whose angled low shot left Pedro Gallese with no chance.
