Glasgow 2014 has appointed Jacqui Murdoch as Director of Games Time Delivery. Jacqui's role will involve overseeing the management of all Games Time Delivery functional areas, including ensuring the areas of Games Family Relations, Games Services, Sport, Venues and Athletes' Village and Volunteering are all developed and ready to be delivered in July 2014.

Originally from Australia, Jacqui brings with her over 20 years' experience of major international sporting events including Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games and World Championships.

Ernst & Young has signed a Tier 2 deal with Glasgow 2014 to become the Official Professional Advisor for the XX Commonwealth Games, strengthening the EY brand in Scotland, the UK, across the Commonwealth and beyond.

Lord Smith, Chairman of Glasgow 2014, the First Minister, Alex Salmond, and Douglas Nisbet, Ernst & Young's Glasgow Office Managing Partner, announced the sponsorship deal at a ceremony to mark the official opening of Ernst & Young's state of the art offices at G1 in George Square, in central Glasgow. Commonwealth Games medallist Lee McConnell was also in attendance for the announcement.

Members from the Lawn Bowls International Federation have visited Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre this week and finished the visit by expressing their delight at the preparation already gone into the West End venue that will host the Lawn Bowls competition for the Commonwealth Games in 2014. Kerry Clark, World Bowls Technical Delegate for Glasgow 2014 and World Bowls Chief Executive Gary Smith have been in Glasgow to meet the Organising Committee and assess the greens at Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre.

Lawn Bowls will provide entertainment and excitement during the Games in just under three years time and the final stages of preparation this summer has seen the laying of the turf onto the newly constructed greens, which will be open to the public next summer.

Glasgow based recruitment agency Search Consultancy has signed a Tier 2 deal to become the Official Recruitment Agency for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games as the recruitment programme to fill 1,044 jobs begins, with 1,044 days to go. The UK multi-sector recruitment specialist, headquartered in Glasgow, will be responsible for attracting and recruiting 1,044 people from now until the Opening Ceremony on 23rd July 2014, equating to a job a day.

Glasgow 2014's workforce will be central to the success of the Games and will comprise a vast number of roles across a range of sectors, from technical sporting roles to corporate positions to event management.
