Though Delhi turned on another hot, steamy day, the two teams played fast-moving, attractive hockey, but the Australians always appeared to have an edge. They launched a match-defining assault in a six-minute spell just before halftime, scoring three quick-fire goals that meant New Zealand was playing catch-up throughout the second spell.

But Canada had to settle for a Bronze as they scored lesser number of perfect 10s (14) when compared to Australia and India (21 each). Further, India piped Australia to sit on top of the podium and clinch the Gold on the basis of count back.

The athlete tested positive for the substance methylhexaneamine, a prohibited stimulant under category S6 of the WADA list of prohibited substances and methods
Ms. Oludamola was notified of the positive result for the A sample and has asked for the B sample to be tested.
