World No.3 Milos Raonic secured his place in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open for the third successive year by beating Spanish No.13 seed Roberto Bautista Agut 7-6(6), 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 at Melbourne Park on Monday. Australian Open: Konta - Serena Williams set up tantalizing quarter-final

Australian born Brit Johanna Konta is the hottest player on the women's tour at present, and the 25 year old won her 9th consecutive match on Monday morning to book her place opposite Serena Williams in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

Konta, champion at the Sydney International a week before the Australian Open got underway, has not lost a set in those nine straight wins, and was in immaculate form as she steam rolled her way past Russian Ekaterina Makarova, 6-1, 6-4 in the fourth round for the second year running.

Australian Open: Vandeweghe knocks out defending champion Angelique Kerber

American Coco Vandeweghe defeated defending champion and world no.1 Angelique Kerber in the fourth round of the Australian Open on Sunday. Vandeweghe eased past the 29 year old German 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals.

"I think it's my first win over a World No.1, I guess. I'll take it. I faked it a lot, because I was feeling a bit crap out there. You have to fake it until you make it. I just had to pick my spots and trust my game," Vandeweghe was quoted as saying by ESPN.

Vandeweghe will face seventh seed Garbine Muguruza in the quarterfinals. Muguruza, the reigning French Open champion, defeated Romania's Sorana Cirstea in staight sets 6-2, 6-3 in 65 minutes earlier today.
