Sheffield Shield Final: Queensland Bulls hold edge over Tasmanian Tigers

The Queensland Bulls hold the upper hand after Day 4 of the JLT Sheffield Shield Final at Allan Border Field in Brisbane. With one day to play, the Bulls hold a 29-run advantage needing only a draw to claim the Shield title after finishing on top of the ladder.

 

The Tasmanian Tigers are 0-10 in their second innings after scoring 477 in their first innings. Queensland responded with a first innings total of 516.

 

The Bulls resumed on Day 4 at 3-223 before eventually being dismissed in the 149th over as every member of the top eight scored more than 30. Charlie Hemphrey (77) and Jack Wildermuth (73) brought up half centuries for Queensland, as did Michael Neser (58), while captain Jimmy Peirson (48) fell just short.

Off-spinner Beau Webster finished with three wickets, while Tom Rogers, Simon Milenko and Jackson Bird claimed two each for Tasmania.

Alex Doolan and Jordan Silk are unbeaten at stumps with five not out each.

Play resumes tomorrow at 9am local time.
