Gauteng, Northerns, Easterns and KwaZulu-Natal all won both of the matches they played on the third day of the Momentum Under-15 Week in Bloemfontein on Sunday.

Twenty20 cricket was the order of the day as Gauteng toppled Limpopo by five wickets and then Free State by nine runs in their two games - Heinrich Pieterse the top-scorer with 81 against the local side.

Thando Makwetu also excelled against Free State with 3/18 in his four overs.

For Northerns, Kagiso Ngwenya took five wickets across their wins, first claiming 2/11 in a massive 107 run victory over Namibia, followed by 3/14 in an eight-wicket triumph of Boland.

SW Kemp made 51 against the Cape side, while Christiaan Oberholzer hit 91 in their win over the visitors.

Daniel Smith (56) meanwhile, notched up a half-century as WP overcame North West by 58 runs, with Michael Levitt’s 50 taking them to a 73-run victory over KwaZulu-Natal Inland, a clash that saw Zayd Noor emerge with the best figures likely to be seen this week of three overs, five wickets and seven runs.

KZN were another side to bag twin wins after they overcame Northern Cape by 16 runs and battled past Eastern Province by 11 runs.

Cade Carmichael, a centurion on Saturday, did it with the ball this time after collecting 4/16 and also top-scoring with 39 to deny NC.

The fourth team to do the Sunday double, Easterns, were six-wicket winners over Boland and then eight-wicket victors over Namibia.

Donovan du Randt took a magical 5/11 in the first game and Nathan Steyn 4/21 in the second to set up straightforward successes.

In other results on Sunday, Tiaan van Tonder (3/16) helped North West overcome South Western Districts by eight wickets and Juan De Olivier’s 50 not out took Free State to an eight-wicket triumph over Border.

Elsewhere, Border beat Limpopo by six wickets, SWD were also beaten by seven runs against KZNI and Eastern Province got past Mpumalanga by four wickets.

Finally, Mpumalanga did manage the winning feeling when they beat Northern Cape by 31 runs after Walli Vayani hit 65 and Sameer Mohammed took 3/7.

Day four of the Momentum National Under-15 Week continues on Monday.
