Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen launches adidas partnership with Lifestyle

21 year old Indian Boxer Nikhat Zareen was joined by actress Sanya Malhotra and musician Monica Dogra, as the trio banded together for the launch of adidas' partnership with Lifestyle International, with the popular sports brand unveiling it launch of ‘shop-in-shop’ outlets at Lifestyle stores.

Nikhat was in Gurugram on Friday, and TheSportsCampus was fortunate enough to get the chance to chat with the former Junior superstar, who has spent the better part of this year, recovering from a shoulder injury sustained in a bout in February during a University tournament. Having joined the senior ranks in 2016, Nikhat was given the opportunity to represent India at the World Championships, where she advanced to the quarter-finals. Zareen earned that opportunity by stunning veteran boxer Meena Kumari.

Speaking exclusively to TSC, Nikhat shared that she idolizes legendary Indian boxer Mary Kom, and is inspired by her work ethic. Zareen had the opportunity to shadow Mary Kom as part of the Indian contingent, and continues to draw inspiration from the superstar, as she continues her lengthy recovery from her unfortunate injury, that forced her to have surgery earlier this year.

Nikhat be participating in the Senior Nationals come January 2018 and is working hard to get in shape for the tournament. Nikhat said, "A player gets stronger after injury, and gets to learn a lot about herself and who are her genuine well wishers."

Nikhat, Monica and Sanya joined hands for adidas, who launched the first of their 'shop in shop' stores at MGF Metropolis, Gurugram. adidas women’s apparel products will soon be available in 16 Lifestyle stores across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore.

The association aims at reaching versatile women across India and inspire them to reinvent their routine, create their own path and make a difference in their lives. With this partnership, customers will have access to high-quality apparel, for fitness and athleisure, which will help them in setting new personal benchmarks in their respective fields.

Speaking on the association, Sean Van Wyk, Sr. Marketing Director, adidas Group India said, “We are pleased to introduce Shop-In-Shop outlets in association with Lifestyle International Pvt. Ltd. for our women’s product category. The partnership with Lifestyle will strengthen our reach across cities and make adidas accessible to a larger set of women. adidas believes in encouraging women to take up sport and fitness and with such initiatives we hope to bring this cultural change to the forefront. We look forward to a meaningful association between both the brands.”

The announcement was followed by a high octane Zumba session hosted by India’s leading Zumba Zin, Shwetambari Shetty and the Cult Crew. This fun workout session witnessed participation from women across all age groups who celebrate the adidas women’ spirit of #NeverDone.
