The KFC Big Bash League player trade period has now closed for the BBL|07 season, with the league able to confirm the following trade has occurred: Matthew Wade will move from the Melbourne Renegades to the Hobart Hurricanes while Beau Webster will move the Hobart Hurricanes to the Melbourne Renegades

KFC BBL player contracting is set to close on Friday, 8 December, while Rebel Women’s Big Bash League player contracting closed on Friday 24 November. 

The summer of Big Bash entertainment will commence with a blockbuster opening weekend of the Rebel WBBL|03, following resounding success of the second season of the WBBL. The fun will begin with a carnival-style event across Saturday 9 December and Sunday 10 December, featuring four matches in Sydney throughout the North Sydney Oval precinct.

The action-packed weekend launching the WBBL|03 season leads into the commencement of the KFC BBL|07 a week later, with the Sydney Thunder hosting the Sydney Sixers in the much-anticipated Sydney Smash at Spotless Stadium on Tuesday 19 December.

The BBL regular season now comprises of 40 matches, increased from 32 matches in BBL|06, in addition to the existing two Semi Finals and the Final, with the extended season being played in new locations including Canberra, Geelong, Launceston and Alice Springs.
