Andries Gous blasted only the second ever Africa T20 Cup century to help Klopper Expert Free State seal their ticket to a maiden final after a 10-wicket demolition of Namibia at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley on Sunday. The right-hander smashed nine sixes and four fours in his 48-ball 101 not out as the side from Bloemfontein made light work of a 166-victory target winning with 15 deliveries to spare.

They will now face Hollywoodbets KwaZulu-Natal Inland in Monday’s final after the latter beat Gauteng earlier on Heritage Day.

Gous was the undoubted star – following in the footsteps of Jon-Jon Smuts as the only other centurion in the three-year history of the competition – but he also had a perfect foil in rookie Karabo Mogotsi, who made an unbeaten 60 (57 balls, 9 fours).

The pair were merciless on the Namibians, who arrived in the semi-finals as the only side to win all three pool matches.

And they would have been confident of maintaining their winning sequence after piling on 165 for three in their 20 overs after losing the toss and being asked to bat first.

They were led by a career-best from Jean Bredenkamp after he made 71 (53 balls, 5 fours, 3 sixes), with Craig Williams and Lohan Louwrens both chipping in with 39.

But it proved a total well short as FS cruised to victory.
