Match-winner Aaron Ramsey: "I just love this competition"

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey picked up yet another FA Cup winners medal, and once again produced the decisive touch in a Final, following up his match-winner against Hull City in 2014 with a rare headed goal to win the Gunners the title against Chelsea at Wembley this afternoon.

Ramsey ghosted into the Chelsea box, getting free of the attentions of the Premier League's player of the season, N'Golo Kante, and nodded home a free header from point blank range after having been found perfectly by Olivier Giroud's cross just 38 seconds after the Frenchman was thrown on for Danny Welbeck after Diego Costa had brought 10-man Chelsea back on level terms.

And Ramsey was effusive in his praise of his Manager Arsene Wenger, whose future with the team continues to be up in the air. Speaking about Wenger, Ramsey said, "I’m happy for the manger, I’m delighted. He’s been fantastic for me, fantastic for these players. Fair play to him, he’s changed the system and it’s paid off. So hopefully he’ll be here next season, because we owe him a lot.”

Wenger did share about his own future, “We have a board meeting on Tuesday, and all will be clear on Wednesday or Thursday.”

Back to Ramsey though, and the Welshman added about the importance of this win, “It’s been an up-and-down season, but to finish it with an FA Cup has to make it a successful one. I just love this competition. The boys deserve it."
