Azhar Ali and Babar Azam led Pakistan’s batting with half-centuries in the third Test of the Brighto Paints presents the Q Mobile Cup Series today in Dominica .

The Windies encountered an unresponsive Windsor Park pitch after they won the toss under cloudy skies and chose to field, and in between two rain delays, they endured another grind, as Azhar, unbeaten on 85, and Babar with 55, propelled the Pakistanis to 169 for two at the close on the first day.

Still, the attack of Shannon Gabriel, Alzarri Joseph, captain Jason Holder and leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo with the help of part-time off-spinner Roston Chase bowled with discipline to keep the visitors on a tight rein, as Azhar and Babar resolutely added 120 for the third wicket.

West Indies are unchanged from the previous Test, but Pakistan made two changes, bringing in Masood and fast-medium bowler Hassan Ali for his Test debut, replacing Ahmed Shehzad and Shadab Khan.

The Test marks the final match for Pakistani legends, Younus Khan, not out on 10, and captain Misbah-ul-Haq, slated to come next.

Summarised scores:

PAKISTAN 169 for two (Azhar Ali 85 not out, Babar Azam 55) vs WEST INDIES
