West Indies batsman Roston Chase carved out a fluent, unbeaten second Test hundred to frustrate Pakistan in the second Test of the Brighto Paints presents the Q Mobile Cup Series.

Playing a Test on home soil for the first time, the 25-year-old Chase was undefeated on 131, propelling the Windies to 286 for six in their first innings at the close on the first day of the contest at Kensington Oval, after they chose to bat.

With West Indies under pressure on 37 for three before lunch, Chase emerged to anchor three key partnerships that fuelled the home team’s revival, the chief of which was an attractive, unbroken, 132-run seventh-wicket stand with his compatriot Jason Holder.

Holder, the West Indies captain, was unbeaten on 58, with visions of a second Test hundred of his own, opener Kieran Powell made 38 and Shane Dowrich scored 29.

Summarised scores:

WEST INDIES 286 for six (Roston Chase 131 not out, Jason Holder 58 not out, Kieran Powell 38, Shane Dowrich 29; Mohammad Abbas 2-47, Mohammad Amir 2-52) vs PAKISTAN
