Chelsea manager Antonio Conte could be seen offloading defender Branislav Ivanovic in the near future, with Everton known to be interested in acquiring his services, according to a revelation made by The Daily Mail.

It is understood that the Merseysiders are set to part ways with their own star, Phil Jagielka, soon, and that they view the star Serb as the perfect replacement for the possibly Sunderland-bound Englishman.

32 year old Ivanovic has been sparsely used by Conte under his reign at the club, with the player having not started a game for the club since September last year. And while the veteran may still be a useful commodity for Chelsea, it is believed that the boss is wishful of offloading him to create space for a new long term defensive signing.

Ivanovic moved to Stamford Bridge in the winter of 2008 from Lokomotiv Moscow, following which he went on to make close to 400 appearances for the side, cementing his name as one of the most highly rated full backs in the English top flight. During the course of his stay at Chelsea, the player has won a number of laurels, which includes the Premier League (twice), the FA Cup (thrice), the League Cup (once), the FA Community Shield (once), the Champions League (once) and the Europa League (once).
