Manchester United have been approached by Ligue1 club Olympique Lyon with regards to the prospect of the French club signing the duo of Memphis Depay and Adnan Januzaj this winter, according to reports in The Daily Mail.

Both the aforementioned players are unwanted at Old Trafford by manager Jose Mourinho in light of their performances. While the Belgian, who is currently on loan at Sunderland, is believed to be keen to move away from the club on a permanent basis, his Dutch teammate is understood to be listed in the market as being available for transfer.

Additionally, the Red Devils are also believed to be keen to pocket at least about £15m from Depay’s sale in order to cut down their losses on their investment in the player. And while Lyon may still be able to pay that kind of money for the youngster, his current wages of £100,000 per week may prove to be a stumbling block for the club in their pursuit of his signature.

The possibility of Depay moving on loan away from the club, as a last ditch measure for Mourinho to wash his hands off him, has also been mooted in the press; however, any potential deal may be subject to the availability and financial potentials of other suitors as well.
