Former Manager bullish about Cohen Bramall's potential

Cohen Bramall signed by Arsenal from seventh division side Hednesford Town this week for a ridiculous £40,000 has certainly caught the attention of fans, especially in today's world of big money deals.

However, the fact that Bramall came to Arsenal for a small fee doesn't mean he isn't talented or that he won't have what it takes to break into the Gunners' first team. In fact, this former Bentley car factory probably knows better than other young talented players just how big this opportunity is for him, and will probably see him working a lot harder.

Speaking about Bramall's potential this week in various press interviews was Liam McDonald, who signed the youngster for Hednesford Town. He shared in an interview carried with BBC Radio, "He's a natural athlete and he's got a great opportunity to develop that now. He'll take it in his stride. I'm very positive he'll have a similar impact to Jamie Vardy."

Also talking up the youngster's potential was Nantwich Town's Director of Football Jon Gold, the club that actually allowed him to move to Hednesford. He said, "He was obviously a great talent when he first came to us but the manager at the time was going with older players. That happens. Jamie Vardy was turned down by many clubs, don't forget, including even Crewe.

"Cohen's a lovely lad. I'm not sure he was taking his football that seriously and he went around the area a bit before moving on to Hednesford, but sometimes it can take time. He played against us earlier in the season and he was man of the match. We're proud to have played even a little part in his development."
