Tottenham Hotspur bounced back from their disappointing defeat at the hands of Manchester United at the weekend with a comfortable 3-0 win over Hull City at White Hart Lane.

Christian Eriksen was the star of the show for Tottenham as he scored twice from crosses from Spurs' full backs and then had a hand in Victor Wanyama's third as Spurs kept pace in the race for a top four berth this season with an important home win.

Tottenham opened the scoring in the 14th minute with Danny Rose setting up the Danish international for an easy finish after doing all the hard work down the left wing.

Spurs and Eriksen's second goal was a virtual carbon copy down the right wing, though Kyle Walker did need to work a little harder to ride the challenge from Andy Robertson and get his cross in.

In between the goals Hull had an excellent spell of pressure, especially towards the start of the second half, but failed to bear any fruit as Eriksen's strike on 63 minutes killed the game as a contest.

Victor Wanyama then added a third, slamming home a rebound from a few yards out, after David Marshall had done well to tip Eriksen's freekick onto the post.

It was a routine win in the end for Tottenham, who move up to 30 points from 16 games, back within 4 points of local rivals Arsenal, but failing to make up any ground on Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, who all picked up wins today. Spurs will also need to keep an eye out on Manchester United behind them, who picked up a controversial 2-1 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, and trail Tottenham by just 3 points.
