Germany's Angelique Kerber and Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova reached the final at the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals in Singapore on Saturday.

World No.1 Kerber dominated defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, recording a 6-2, 6-1 victory to make it six wins apiece in their head-to-heads. World No.8 Cibulkova meanwhile came back from 4-2 down in the deciding set to defeat veteran Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova 1-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4 in two hours and 27 minutes to book her place in Sunday's final.

Kerber shared after her win, "I'm really happy to being in the final here for my first time. It's the last tournament, and of course to finish with a final it's great. I remember the last year how I was finishing here, so this is big improvement."

Looking ahead to the final, Kerber said, "It's a little bit weird to play against one opponent twice in one tournament. This never happened before for me. I'm looking forward to play against her. The first match here was really tight and close, so she has a lot of confidence from the last two matches she won."

Kerber had eked out a three set win against Cibulkova at the start of the tournament. The Slovak was a little lucky to make it this far despite winning just one of her group stage matches.

Her semi-final encounter with Kuznetsova was a fantastic match, and looking back at it the powerful counter puncher said, "At the end I was lying on the court and now I'm so excited. It's my first time here playing Finals and for me it's one of my dreams come true - it's just incredible."
