Australia has secured their spot in the Davis Cup World Group for the fourth consecutive year after defeating Slovakia 3-0 in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Play-off tie at Ken Rosewall Arena today.

John Peers gained his first Davis Cup victory when he and Sam Groth defeated Andrej Martin and Igor Zelenay in four sets 6-4 6-2 6-7(3) 7-6(2) to win the doubles rubber.

Yesterday Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic posted wins in the first two singles matches.

Tomorrow the reverse singles will be played.
