Chelsea still following Koulibaly, Napoli line up replacements

Chelsea are understood to be still unwilling to give up on their pursuit of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, despite having had a massive £42m bid for the player rejected by the Serie A giants. And according to reports in The Daily Mail, the Blues have been boosted in their pursuit of the Senegalese ace, with his club now weighing up potential moves for the likes of Sunderland’s Lamine Kone and Benfica's Victor Lindelof to act as replacement for him, should he move to Stamford Bridge in the near future.

However, they may have to forget all about Icardi

The west London giants, however, have been asked to stay away from Inter Milan ace Mauro Icardi by the club’s new manager Frank de Boer. The Dutchman was quoted telling reporters: “We’ll keep every player we don’t want to sell. Icardi is very important for me and he’ll stay. He’s young, he can learn a lot, but he’s already proven himself to be fantastic. We can work very well together, there won’t be any problems.”

Icardi is also known to have been a target for Arsenal for quite some time now.

Nevertheless, Conte isn’t willing to give up on Lukaku

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, meanwhile, is believed to be unwilling to admit defeat in his chase of Everton forward Romelu Lukaku. According to reports in The Daily Express, the Blues’ boss will continue to make attempts to bring the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge this summer till the deadline day, with additional reports revealing that the Blues are ready to table a massive £65m offer to sign the player – a bid that would be extremely tough for Everton to reject.
