Chelsea manager Antonio Conte seems to have become desperate to strengthen his strike force even further this summer, with reports in The Daily Mirror revealing that the Blues are set to table a £68m bid to re-acquire the services of Everton ace Romelu Lukaku.

The west London giants have already had a £57m offer for the Belgian rejected by the Toffees, with Ronald Koeman’s side known to be unwilling to part ways with him unless they are paid at least £75m for the player, for whom they paid just £28m two summers ago!

Lukaku himself is known to be becoming desperate to return to Stamford Bridge this summer to work under new boss Conte and help his old club put forth a strong challenge for titles. Additionally, it is also believed that the Blues have themselves prepared a mouth-watering five year deal to be presented to the player, once the Merseyside giants accept their request.

Chelsea have already landed Michy Batshuayi as a new forward this summer; however, Conte is still interested in landing at least one more striker before the close of the transfer window, with Diego Costa out of action currently. The side have already given up on the possibility of signing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid in the days to come, which is why Lukaku has emerged as a key target for them.
