Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sang the praises of young attacker Alex Iwobi, who is starting to fulfill his promise at the club, scoring the second of Arsenal's two goals as the Gunners eased past Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Arsenal, who look set to end this season without anything to show for it, will at least walk away with the promise of some more youngsters developing through the ranks at the club and beginning to make a mark in the first team, with Iwobi the latest to turn potential into performance.

Wenger spoke in glowing terms about Iwobi after the game, telling reporters, "He is an intelligent boy who is passionate about the game and wants to learn. He is very humble as well. He is 19 years old. He has been at the club since the age of eight. I was looking at him in training during the season and in pre-season and I liked what he did. After that, he improved very quickly with the first team. Month after month, he developed very well and that is why I integrated him and played him."

Iwobi is indeed turning out to be a terrific talent for Arsenal, and his emergence in the first team will only encourage more youngsters to work harder knowing that they will get a chance at Arsenal should they continue to develop.
