Cricket Australia’s National Selection Panel has called 26-year-old Victorian paceman Scott Boland into the squad for the second Commonwealth Bank Test against the West Indies at the MCG starting on Boxing Day.

He has been drafted into the squad following the injury to fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile in last night’s KFC Big Bash League game between the Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers in Perth.

Cricket Australia Physiotherapist David Beakley said: “The Scorchers medical team confirmed that Nathan dislocated his right shoulder while fielding last night.

“Although the extent of the injury and rehabilitation period will not be fully known until we receive the results of scans later today, we can confirm that Nathan will not be available for the Boxing Day Test.”
