India A has taken a 51-run lead heading into the final day’s play in Chennai tomorrow but with Australia A still to bat their second innings. The hosts will resume day four tomorrow at 6/265 after handing Australia a 214-run first-innings lead.

Attacking innings from Abhinav Mukund (59), Virat Kohli (45) and Shreyas Iyer (48) ticked the scoreboard along throughout the day as the Australian bowlers searched for wickets.

Steve O’Keefe finished the day with 3/83, including the wicket of Indian Test captain Kohli; bowled through the gate for 45.

Gurinder Sandhu (1/74) alternated the day between pace and off-spin bowling, with the later bagging Karun Nair, who had been scoring freely for his 31 from 34 balls. All wickets for the day fell to spin, with Ashton Agar (1/71) also picking up top-scorer Mukund thanks to a sharp catch in close from Cameron Bancroft.

Earlier this morning, Australia A was bowled out for 349, with Pragyan Ojha picking up his fourth wicket for the innings to dismiss Andrew Fekete for 10. Steve O’Keefe was unbeaten on 16.
