World no.1 Novak Djokovic completely a remarkable turnaround on Tuesday afternoon to keep his title defence at Wimbledon alive, overcoming the challenge of big serving South African Kevin Anderson in five highly competitive sets, 6-7 6-7 6-1 6-4 7-5.

After having dropped the opening two sets in tiebreaks yesterday, Djokovic battled back to win the next two before bad light brought an end to proceedings on Monday.

The match resumed on Court 1 this afternoon, and both players had more than a handful of half-chances to take the crucial break in the deciding set. That eventually went the way of a relieved Djokovic, who broke serve in the 11th game before serving out the match to set up a quarter-final showdown with the reigning US Open champion Marin Cilic.

Cilic, seeded 9th at Wimbledon this year, quelled the challenge of American Denis Kudla in four sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
