rafael_nadalTwo time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal's summer of discontent shows no sign of abating as the legendary clay-courter followed up his dismal outing on the red stuff at Roland Garros with an early second round exit on the green green grass of Wimbledon.

Nadal, a winner here in 2008 and 2010, was ranked a lowly 10th coming into the Championships, and looked nothing like the champion he once was, going down in four sets to German qualifier Dustin Brown, ranked outside the top 100.

Amazingly this was Brown's second win over Nadal, having beaten the legendary Spaniard in Halle last year. Brown produced an incredible 58 winners and rushed to the net at every opportunity in an attempt to throw Nadal off his game.

Brown won a tight opening set 7-5, but it looked briefly like Nadal was back to his best when he broke serve twice to take the second set 6-3. However, Brown recovered his poise and rattled off the next couple of sets 6-4, 6-4 to book his place in the third round.

Up next for the 30 year old German journeyman is Serbia Viktor Troicki, seeded 22nd at the Championships.

Other winners on day 4 included 2013 champion Andy Murray, who eased past Robin Haase of the Netherlands, 6-1, 6-1, 6-4. Murray will next take on Italian Andreas Seppi, ranked 25th. Seppi needed five sets to beat Croatian teenager Boran Coric.

Also punching his ticket into the Round of 32 was the second seed Roger Federer, a comfortable 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 winner against big serving American Sam Querrey.

13th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 6th seed Tomas Berdych and 18th seed Gael Monfils. 15th seed Fernando Lopez and 30th seed Fabio Fognini were the two major casualties of the day.
