Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, it seems, has a kind of fetish for Queens Park Rangers forwards. It is believed that the 'Special One; has now become seriously interested in signing forward Charlie Austin from the relegated side, with the Blues also having become the favourites to land him.

According to a revelation made by the Evening Standard, Austin is keen on remaining in London even if he does move this summer, so as to ensure his family do not suffer relocation issues. That, in turn, means that it has become harder for the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United to sign him now.

On the other hand, the player is understood to be rated in the region of £15m by his club, which means that Crystal Palace may find it tough to land him too.

And finally, with Chelsea capable of providing the forward with Champions League football, even the likes of Southampton and West Ham United may not find it easy to bring the player to their respective dens.

Austin, who ended last season as the Premier League’s 4th highest goalscorer with 18 strikes in 35 appearances, however, is being seen as a replacement for Loic Remy at Stamford Bridge. That, in turn, means that the player may have his doubts regarding the move, as he may not find it easy to land himself game time, with the likes of Diego Costa and possibly Radamel Falcao being ahead of him in the pecking order at the club.
