Spanish giants Real Madrid have once again bagged a player from right under the nose of a few Premier League heavyweights! According to reports in the press, Los Blancos have reached an agreement with Porto to sign their right back Danilo in the summer. The player was understood to be a target for Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool too.

A statement on Real’s official website, read: ‘Real Madrid C. F. and FC Porto have reached an agreement over the transfer of Danilo, he will join the club next season and has a contract until 30 June 2021.’

Meanwhile, reports in BBC Sport have revealed the transfer fee of the player to be £23m.

A trademark right back, the 23 year old can also ply his trade as a right midfielder too. He has made 34 appearances for his club this season, scoring 4 goals and assisting 4 more. Additionally, he has also become a first team regular for the Brazilian national football team.

Meanwhile, the reports will certainly spell massive disappointment for all the aforementioned Premier League sides. The clubs could have benefitted immensely from the presence of the player in their respective teams, due to his versatility and experience despite his young age. However, with him set to move to the Santiago Bernabeu now, they will need to start scanning the market for other targets.
