Spanish giants Barcelona are understood to have pulled out of the race to sign Atletico Madrid playmaker Koke, who is also believed to be a target for Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Chelsea. Additionally, reports in The Metro have also revealed that the Blues are ready to table a bid of £44m to sign the highly rated youngster.

The 23 year old has been in blazing form for Los Rojiblancos is recent seasons, playing a pivotal role in steering them to the La Liga title and the finals of the Champions League last year. This season too, the player has been in good form, despite his injury problem, making 37 appearances for the club, whilst contributing to 19 goals.

The youngster’s performances have made him the top target for both United and Chelsea in recent times. And while the reports of Barca pulling out of the race to sign him will mean good news for both the sides, the Blues have been keener to make the most out of the chance. It is reported that the west Londoners will attempt to land him at Stamford Bridge by paying £44m for his services.

Meanwhile, signing the Spaniard will not be an easy prospect for any of his suitors, even for that kind of cash. It is known that Atletico value the player immensely, which is why they will not be in favour of letting him move at all. Additionally, Koke is himself believed to be loyal to his side and he will need a lot of effort to persuade to move.
