Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim has said that the side will not be taking their match against Arsenal lightly, despite having a 3-1 advantage from their last match at the Emirates Stadium.

Jardim was quoted telling reporters ahead of the game: “We will approach the game in the same way as other games [in this competition]. When you are facing a such a team as Arsenal, with players like [Danny] Welbeck, [Mesut] Özil and [Santi] Cazorla - it is true we cannot take it easy.”

The coach said that his side must maintain their focus in the game. He said that the side are only halfway in the tie right now, and that their opponents have ‘strong and quality players within their squad’, which will make the second leg difficult for them.

Jardim also pointed out that defender Aymen Abdennour will have an important role to play in the fixture, as he is a significant player in their system. He concluded by adding that the match against the north Londoners will be the toughest game of the season for them, indicating that they will not take it lightly at any cost.

The French side are in a massively more advantageous position compared to Arsenal, in the tie, after having won their away match with a scoreline of 3-1. The side also boast of one of the strongest defence lines in Europe right now, and the Gunners will surely have to toil hard to break them.
