Arsenal and Liverpool, arguably the favourites to win the FA Cup this year, have been drawn separately for the FA Cup semi-finals this year. The draw, which was held right after the Gunners’ away triumph over Manchester United, saw them being drawn against the winner of the Bradford City-Reading tie, with the Reds getting a fixture against Aston Villa, provided they are able to edge past Blackburn Rovers in the replay.

With the Cup having reached a severely competitive stage now, the Gunners may have to toil hard to get past the League One side (provided they qualify for the next round) who defeated Chelsea and Sunderland earlier in the competition. Bradford also knocked Arsenal out of the Capital One Cup two years ago.

Alternatively, the north Londoners will be facing Championship side Reading, who have had comparatively easier fixtures against the likes of Cardiff City and Derby County till now.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers’ men will need to overcome Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in their replay match, before meeting Premier League strugglers Aston Villa, who have proved themselves by defeating the likes of Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion in the run to the semi-finals.

The semi-finals of the competition will be held on the 18th and 19th of April.

The fixtures:

Bradford City or Reading v Arsenal

Aston Villa v Liverpool or Blackburn Rovers
