Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim has revealed that the young duo of full back Lavyin Kurzawa and winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco are doubtful for their Champions League round of 16 first leg match against Arsenal today. He said that the pair face a late fitness test today to ascertain their final situation ahead of the game.

A tweet from Monaco’s official Twitter account, read: ‘L.Jardim : « I do not know yet if @layvinkurzawa and Carrasco will be able to play tomorrow. We will test them today." #ARSASM’

Meanwhile, talking about the Gunners, Jardim said that the side have developed considerably over the last few years, and are a much better side than what they were some seasons back. He said that the strategy his team will be following is ‘to try and be solid and to not allow Arsenal’s key attacking players to unbalance’ them.

Jardim said that his side shouldn’t be taken lightly and that they do not lack ambition, despite a number of sides hoping to be drawn against them in this round. He pointed out that despite not being favourites, Monaco managed to top their group; in the same way, no one expects them to qualify from the tie, but that shouldn’t prevent them from going through to the next round.
