The Kolkata Knight Riders extended their winning streak to 13 straight matches and confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League T20 with a thumping 36 run win against the Dolphins.

Winning the toss and opting to make first use of the pitch, the Knight Riders posted an impressive 187 runs on the board for the loss of just 2 wickets. Stars Gautam Gambhir (12) and Jacques Kallis (6) failed to fire, but Robin Uthappa was in top form, making an unbeaten 85 from just 55 balls with the help of 13 boundaries. He shared an unbroken stand for the 3rd wicket with the equally prolific Manish Pandey, who made the most of his opportunity at the top of the order to hit 76 from 47 balls with 5 sixes and an equal number of fours.

The Dolphins struggled early in their chase, losing two wickets inside the first 8 deliveries but they still looked as though they had a chance when Zondo and Phehlukwayo added 63 for the fifth wicket in six overs, leaving them needing to score 68 off the last 5.2 overs.

Sunil Narine then closed the match out for the Knight Riders, dismissing both these batsmen as well as the dangerous Robbie Frylinck.

The Knight Riders will next take on the Hobart Hurricanes in the first semi-final to be played in Hyderabad on 2nd October.
