Monaco urges Cech to forget his Blues

Chelsea will have to fight tooth and nail if they want to hold on to their legendary goalkeeper Petr Cech. The Mirror reports that cash rich French club AS Monaco are hot on the trails of the 32 year old shot stopper.

Jose Mourinho dropped Petr Cech through no fault of his own but ostensibly with an eye on the future. Thibaut Courtois had made it plain that his stay at Stamford Bridge would hinge on first team opportunities and for once ‘The Special One’ had to make special considerations, which meant that Cech became the necessary but unwilling collateral.

Now, Monaco wants Cech to forget his blues and join ranks with them on a big money transfer. They have come up with a £10 million deal, which would see the Czech take a considerable salary bump, were he ready to board the plane to France. Mourinho has already insisted that he would like both his goalkeepers to stay put at West London, but that might not be in the best interest of the 32 year old.

Meanwhile, Cech has instructed his agent Viktor Kolar to not entertain speculation and Kolar recently said, “I would like to believe that, with Petr’s 10 years of service for Chelsea, the club will treat him with respect and give him a chance to fight for the No.1 position.”
