South African coach, Russell Domingo, says his team will need to "find a way" to deal with the absence of captain, Faf du Plessis, in their ICC World Twenty20 match against England in Chittagong on Saturday. Du Plessis was handed a one-match ban after his second over-rate offence, and will be watching the "quarter-final" encounter from the sidelines.

"It's a disappointment not having Faf there," Domingo said in Chittagong on Friday afternoon. "He is a fantastic captain, top-order batsman and a great fielder.

"AB (de Villiers) is an experienced captain now, he has been to all the meetings that we have had discussing tactics and game plans so he is in the loop," he explained.

"It’s been one of those campaigns," he said of the constant disruptions such as injuries and off-field matters. "Who knows, maybe it can make for a good story if we go on to win the tournament."

The Proteas have scraped through their last two matches against New Zealand and the Netherlands, and will have to lift their performances to beat an English side full of confidence after a swashbuckling eight-wicket win over Sri Lanka last night.

Domingo says his team will have to execute the basics well, especially against a side that possesses similar strengths to that of the Proteas.

This will be the first time the Proteas play under lights, while England have played all of their matches in the evening.

"The dew is obviously a concern," the coach said. "The toss will be important but after watching last night the dew seemed to play a role, that is more of a concern than the catching under lights. We had a good fielding session under lights this evening so hopefully the guys have an idea of what they are up against."

Wayne Parnell has rejoined the squad in Chittagong, following his appearance at an Indian court in Mumbai on Thursday morning.
