Australia have beaten New Zealand by 3 runs in their ICC World Twenty20 warm-up match in Fatullah today.

George Bailey won the toss and elected to bat with each team electing to play 13 players in the match. David Warner and Aaron Finch were in sublime form at the top of the order. Warner hit a quick 65 of 26 balls before both he and Finch (47) retired to allow others to bat. Australia posted a respectable 200  for the loss of seven wickets, for New Zealand to chase.

In response New Zealand got off to a flyer with Martin Guptill  scoring 62 of 34 balls. Brad Hogg, James Muirhead, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Mitchell Starc all picked up two wickets a piece for the Australians.

Starc and Coulter-Nile both provided great death bowling to see the Aussies home by 3 runs.

Following the conclusion of the match both teams played an extra 5 overs for match practice.
