With current Barcelona number 1 Victor Valdes making it clear that he'll be looking for a new challenge in the summer, the question bothering every Barca fan is who will be his replacement. The rumour mill is on full swing and with the possible replacements remaining tight lipped about their future, here are the Top 3 candidates, who are ideal to be the new Catalan Numero Uno.

1. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen : The 1.9m tall Borussia Monchengladbach shot stopper has been on the Catalan's radar for a while now. His vision, reflexes and positioning has made him one of the best young talents in the goalkeeping fraternity. With representatives of Barca declaring their interest in him on numerous occasions, he is currently the frontrunner to be the man between the sticks at the Camp Nou next season.

2. Thibaut Courtois : His parent club Chelsea has shown no interest in rushing him back to Stamford Bridge as he is now in his third season at Atletico Madrid. And with this young keeper exhibiting some inspiring performances for his current club, he has earned the admiration and praise of Sandro Rosell, Barca's President. He has not committed to his future at Atletico or Chelsea, thus giving more fuel to the rumor mills. His latest comment is that all decisions will need to wait till after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and Courtois has postponed the acceptance of a 2 year contract extension offered to him by Chelsea.

3. Fraser Forster : After stupendous performances against the Barcelona forwards in the Celtic vs Barcelona Champions League clash this season, he has managed to raise a lot of eyebrows, including that of the new Barca gaffer 'Tata' Martino and other European giants. His admiration by the club's star midfielder, Xavi Hernandez, has also fuelled speculation that he is also on the Barca radar. Barca play Celtic for the second time this season at the Camp Nou on the 11th of December, and Forster can audition for the role with another great display in between the sticks.

It's just a matter of a few months before it's officially announced that who has been selected for the crucial Camp Nou job. With substitute goalkeeper Pinto also reaching the age of 38, it's about time that the Catalans sign two goalkeepers to preserve their tag of being the 'best team of all time', and with former Barca youth product Pepe Reina looking quite certain to be one of the candidates, one of the aforementioned youngsters looks primed to challenge the Liverpool keeper for the No.1 jersey at the Camp Nou next season.
