Miralem Pjanic has ignored the appealing approaches of Premier League clubs and declared that he is happy in Rome, claimed the Express. The Bosnian playmaker has been wooed by top English clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham but has decided to shun the glam and glitz of the Premier League for his current side AS Roma.

Pjanic, who played in Lyon for 3 full seasons before making a €11 million switch to AS Roma in the dying stages of 2011 summer transfer window, said: “I don’t want to leave. Everyone here knows that.”

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international, who is hailed for his technical prowess, has featured mainly in the centre of the pitch for the Serie A outfit but is comfortable in a trequarista role behind the strikers as well as on the right wing. Pjanic scored 3 goals and assisted 5 in 27 appearances for the Giallorossi and has gone on to become one of the main players in the team.

Though he gained his fame for Roma, it is with Lyon that Pjanic initially caught the eye of the scouts as he learned the tricks of the trade at the French club. He scored 16 goals and produced as many assists in 121 appearances for Lyon.

Though all the above mentioned suitors have stacked midfield squads, the 23 year old offers a whole new dimension to any team with his dribble-and-pass nature and set piece expertise. Indeed the four bigwigs of Premier League will be disappointed with Pjanic’s declaration and will be hoping he changes his stance in the near future.
