Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have been keen on bolstering their attack for quite some time now. They have one common target though, Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic. They believed that Italian champions Juventus were interested in him, and that given the option, Jovetic would probably chose to stay on in Italy. However, with Juventus General Manager Giuseppe Marotta confirming that his club had not made any contact with Fiorentina for a possible move, the Premier League trio look all set to move for the Montenegrin.
Arsenal have been looking to give Olivier Giroud competition in the striker position, and are desperately keen on the young Montenegrin. Manchester City, however look to be losing their super sub Edin Dzeko in the summer, with the Bosnian striker clearly unhappy at the Etihad. With Mario Balotelli leaving in the winter for AC Milan and Carlos Tevez being of interest to other clubs, the new manager will certainly be looking for a new striker. Chelsea, meanwhile, continue to rue the presence of non scoring forwards like the on-again-off-again Fernando Torres, and will most definitely be looking to strengthen the position with Jovetic.
Fiorentina, however, as reported by the Daily Star, put a definite price tag of £25 million on their striker, while accepting that the departure of the 23 year old might just be inevitable at the right price. This, though, may not seem like much for the Premier League clubs, but they will be speculative because he may not be as sure fire a solution as a Cavani or Falcao. However, the Montenegrin could be depended on to score goals at regular intervals, as he finished with 12 goals for the Florence club in 33 matches. And being young, he has time on his side to improve and become a world class striker.
