Pellegrini confirms City talks to start soon
Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that he is set to initiate talks with Manchester City soon and will listen to the offers on the table. Pellegrini managed his last game of the season with Malaga and has already confirmed his exit from the La Liga side. Pellegrini also quashed rumors that he has already signed up to be the next Manchester City manager and ESPN quote the Chilean saying, “When I reach an agreement I will tell you. I have an agreement to start conversations with Manchester City. Now the league is over we will start from Monday to look forward and to see where my future lies. Some rumours will be right, others won't, but I have kept my focus on Malaga until now.”
Fabregas set for talks with Vilanova as Big Four snoop around
As Premier League’s Big Four- Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, prepare their summer transfer lists, Cesc Fabregas is ready for crunch talks with manager Tito Vilanova over his Barcelona future. The Daily Mail reports that Neymar’s arrival at Camp Nou has thrown Fabregas’ future in doubt and the Spaniard wants reassurances about his role at the club. Arsenal hold first refusal with a buy-back clause set at £25million but Manchester United have edged ahead with new manager David Moyes keen to strengthen his midfield.
Monaco to take Nani off Man United’s hands
Big spending Monaco are set to add to their already stellar summer shopping list as the Mirrorunderstands that the French moneybags are prepared to table a £20million bid for out-of-favor Manchester United winger Nani. The Portuguese has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and has been tipped to leave the club since last summer. David Moyes will be happy to sell the 26-year old to add to his transfer kitty with Monaco looking keen to increase their summer spending which has already crossed £100million on the likes of Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.
Grenier confirms Lyon exit, could be a Gunner soon
Arsenal may finally be set to land their man after Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier confirmed that he will leave the French club and could be on his way to Arsenal this summer. Being nicknamed the ‘New Nasri’ by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Grenier has signaled his intentions to leave Lyon this summer and the Metro quote the Frenchman saying, “I have made a decision about which club I will join this summer. I have made the choice for sporting reasons above all. Is it Arsenal? It could be them. There is competition for places there, but you get that at all big clubs. It won’t stop me making my decision. I’m still young, but I have always set myself targets and I’ll do everything possible to exceed them.”
Atletico enter chase for Suarez
Luis Suarez has signaled his desire to leave Liverpool this summer after a controversial season ended in a 10-game ban and the Liverpool striker’s next destination could be Madrid as the Daily Mail report that Atletico Madrid are ready to battle city rival Real for the Uruguayan. But Suarez’s move could hinge on Real’s interest in Napoli striker Edinson Cavani. Real’s move for Cavani could push Suarez closer to Atletico but Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Cavani. New Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has refused a player-plus-cash deal with Chelsea and will be open to a£50million sale for Cavani.
Luiz refuses to commit future to Chelsea
With Jose Mourinho set to take over as the new Chelsea manager, one man could be headed towards the exit door. David Luiz has been a £35million target for Barcelona and Napoli as the Brazilian is likely to be sold by Mourinho but the Chelsea defender refused to talk about his future at Stamford Bridge. Talking ahead of his country’s international friendly against England, the Sun quotes Luiz saying, “I really don’t want to talk about my future. At the moment I am only thinking about the national team.” Barcelona are desperate to strengthen their defence while new Napoli manager Rafael Benitez is keen on a reunion with Luiz in Italy after his successful time in London.
Tottenham line up Hulk move
Andre Villas-Boas is keen on a reunion with Hulk as the Daily Star understands that the Tottenham manager is interested in a move for Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk, who he managed during his time at Porto. Hulk joined Zenit last summer but has failed to adjust to life in Russia and is keen on a transfer. Tottenham are one of the 2 Premier League clubs chasing the Brazilian with Chelsea also tracking their former target. Talking about interest from Tottenham and Chelsea, Hulk’s agent said, “Two big clubs in the Premier League have enquired about Hulk. This could arise because Hulk’s best time was under Andre Villas-Boas at Porto.”
Arsenal face Dortmund bid for Podolski
Borussia Dortmund’s run to the Champions League final this season has propelled the Germans into one of Europe’s elite and the club is starting to attract the best talent in the world. According to the Sun, Dortmund are preparing to test Arsenal’s resolve to keep old of Lukas Podolski after the German slipped down the pecking order in the latter stages of the season. Dortmund have cash to splash after the sale of Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich and are looking to build on this season’s success. Atletico Madrid are also rumored to be chasing Podolski who arrived at Arsenal for £11million last year.
Higuain to leave Madrid, Premier League clubs on alert
Gonzalo Higuain has put several Premier League clubs on high alert after admitting that he will leave Real Madrid this summer. The Argentine has been regularly rotated with Karim Benzema in the Madrid starting line-up and is ready to move on with Juventus being tipped as his next destination. However, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are also chasing the 25-year old who was quoted by ESPNas, “I feel that my time here has come to an end and I want a change of scenery. I have experienced seven intense, tough and happy years here. It was a decision I have been thinking about for some time. It's tough, it wasn't easy to make, but I will go to another club to seek new challenges.”
Man United and Liverpool to battle for Crewe youngster Clayton
League One side Crewe Alexandra have emerged as the new destination for top clubs in England to raid for promising youngsters and after Manchester United snapped up Nick Powell last summer, the Premier League champions are looking at another of the club’s youngsters, Max Clayton. The Daily Starreports that the 18-year old striker’s refusal to sign a contract extension has given Manchester United and Liverpool the chance to sign the player for £6million. Clayton’s current deal expires at the end of next season and Crewe will look to cash in on the teenager.
Rodgers to make offer for Mignolet
Asmir Begovic has expressed his desire to start training as a Liverpool player in July but the Bosnian may not even get an offer from the Reds as the Mirror believe that manager Brendan Rodgers has been given the go-ahead by the club to launch a £6.5million for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. The Belgian was in stupendous form last season and has emerged as the top target for Rodgers to take over at Anfield as the replacement for outgoing Pepe Reina. However, should the deal for Mignolet fall through, Liverpool have identified Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez as the back-up option.
Cabaye a £15million target for PSG
Paris Saint Germain are keen to rival new French moneybags Monaco in terms of transfer spending as the Daily Star understands that the Ligue 1 Champions are preparing a £15million bid for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye. The Frenchman would jump to a move to PSG to further his chances with France for next year’s World Cup. Arsenal and Tottenham are also reportedly chasing Cabaye but PSG look set to beat off the competition from London with a bid in the region of £15million to be tabled in the coming weeks.
