Arsenal are reported to be considering making a move for Fiorentina’s £24million-rated striker Stevan Jovetic. But the Gunners are expected to face stiff challenge from Roma and Juventus, who are also reportedly interested in the availability of the 23 year old.
Despite his injury prone history, Jovetic is a terrific young prospect given his ability to play up front in a number of roles. Possessing great close control and dribbling ability, the Montenegro international is a true two footed player with a keen eye for goal. The 23 year old has also showcased his ability to be an excellent playmaker, averaging over two key passes per game.
Wenger would no doubt want the Fiorentina forward at the Emirates next season. Arsenal's attacking trio of Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott have managed a decent 51 goals between them this season, but really need that figure to be closer to 60-70 if they are to break their title drought next season. The arrival of Jovetic, will surely boost Arsenal’s potent yet misfiring strike-force.
But a lot depends on Arsenal’s success in qualifying for the Champions League this season, failing which we could well see the Montenegrin remain in Italy.
