Borussia Dortmund are looking to reclaim their prized asset Nuri Sahin according to reports in TalkSPORT. The Turkish international had fallen out of favour with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, who had bought the player in a €12 million deal that appeared to be a bit of a coup back then.

Currently on loan at Liverpool, Nuri Sahin has had few chances to redeem himself under Brendan Rodgers and hasn’t featured in the last five premier league games. Having started just 12 times this season for the Reds, including 5 times in the Europa League, it remains to be seen if Sahin is a part of Rodgers’ long term plans.

If Rodgers at all decides to make a permanent move for the Turkish international, then they may face competition from Borussia Dortmund. Sahin was a key player in the Dortmund side that had triumphed in the 2010-11 Bundesliga season. He had widely gained recognition as being the next Andrea Pirlo, courtesy his ability to sit deep and dictate play as also his incisive passing. However, after being snapped up by Madrid, it has all gone downhill for the boy tipped for greatness.

Reigning Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund will be looking to take advantage of this and get their erstwhile influential midfielder Sahin back. However, any decision regarding the 24 year old’s future will only be taken when his season long loan at Anfield ends.
