Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls have denied any rumours linking French star Thierry Henry to his old club Arsenal in January. A spokesperson of the club said speaking to majorleaguesoccer.com, “‘No club has made a request for a loan for any of our players.“
Henry, 35, had previously been linked with another loan move to Arsenal after having served a spell last January where he scored 3 goals for the Gunners. Henry had also been training with Arsenal in the MLS off-season at London Colney, Arsenal’s training facility. However, with no offer having been received by the New York Red Bulls, doubts are being raised whethr Arsene manager Arsene Wenger is actually keen to bring his once ace striker back to the Emirates for a 3rd time.
The former French international, Henry, has been in good form this season for the New York Red Bulls, scoring 15 goals in 27 appearances so far them, which also earned him a nomination for MLS’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) award this season.
Arsenal fans will be hoping though that their all-time highest goalscorer will come back one more time to the Emirates and help their team out of a difficult phase at the moment. Henry has already scored 228 goals in 378 appearances for the Gunners and will be hoping to add to that tally when he returns.
