After a below-average season so far, manager Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen his squad and has targeted Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha as a top priority in the winter transfer window.
The Daily Mirror has reported that Arsenal are confident of landing the wonder-kid and are expected to table a bid for the player in January. The club is hoping to prise away the youngster from the Championship club with a bid in the region of £9 million.
Zaha, who made his England debut recently, has progressed through the ranks at Crystal Palace and has sparkled in recent seasons catching the eye of several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle. However, Arsenal are confident they can sign the player in January.
Arsene Wenger has always had a keen eye for young talent and has been prepared to wait in the past to sign a key player rather than risk paying an inflated price. Wenger though seems to be convinced he can bring Zaha to the Emirates in the January transfer window and the player has also admitted a keen interest in a move to Arsenal.
