The under-fire Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reported to be looking for a couple of established players to find a solution to his side’s dismal run so far this season. First on the Frenchman’s priority list is Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Wenger is believed to be a long term admirer of the 29 year old striker and with Huntelaar’s contract with Schalke due to expire this summer, it has been widely reported that Wenger wants to cash in on the situation.

The Arsenal manager is believed to have sent his scouting team to monitor the forward and seems to be convinced to launch a bid in the region of £6 million for the former Real Madrid flop.

In other news Wenger is believed to have stepped up his interest in 20-year old Crystal Palace starlet, Wilfried Zaha. With the future of Theo Walcott uncertain at Arsenal, Wenger is reported to have identified Zaha is an ideal replacement for Walcott and is ready to make an offer in the region of £9 million for the talented winger.

Arsenal are also looking to beef up their Goalkeeping options, according to reports in the English media. Wenger has reportedly been looking at several Goalies in recent times and looks to have earmarked unsettled Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina as a possible transfer target. It will be interesting to see if the move goes through though as Arsenal already have an established no.1 in Poland international Wojciech Szczesny and a capable reserve Goalie in 24 year old Italian Vito Mannone, who has done his reputation no harm with his performances this season.

Besides, Arsenal could well be landing their once ace striker and Premier League legend Thierry Henry on a short Loan from MLS club New York Red Bulls once again this January. Henry has always expressed his deep admiration for the club and given his stature in the Premier League, his presence in the change room could be a big boost to the Gunners’ squad.
