Chelsea's Brazilian contingent is set to increase in the January transfer window, with the London club hoping to sign Metalist Kharkiv forward Taison Freda, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The 23 year old striker, who has wowed spectators with his skills and penchant for scoring goals, could join the Blues for a reported £10 million. However, since Taison has never represented Brazil at the international level, there might be problems securing a work permit for the talented forward. Chelsea are hoping a 'special talent' visa will be granted.

Taison was brought to London this weekend to watch Chelsea play against Fulham at Stamford Bridge, and if things go according to plan, he will soon be a Chelsea player. With young Fluminese full back Wallace, also nearing a move to the Bridge, he could join a Chelsea squad burgeoning with Brazilians, with Ramires, David Luiz, Oscar and Lucas Piazon already at the club.

Chelsea will be hoping that the signing of Taison will give their squad some strength and depth up front, with Fernando Torres misfiring, and the Blues slipping farther and farther away from Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table.
