18 year-old striker Domenico Berardi's agent has claimed that Manchester City, Liverpool and Southampton have all expressed an interest in the youngster who plays for Serie B side Sassuolo.

Berardi has broken into Sassuolo's first team this season, having scored 3 goals in 10 appearances so far. The teenager's exploits have attracted the attention of several elite clubs across England and Italy, reports Sky Sports.

Berardi's agent Giuseppe Galli told tottojuve.com, “Juventus, Roma and Manchester City seeking Berardi? These are not rumours, this is real interest. During recent weeks these clubs have sent observers to see Sassuolo's matches on many occasions. Manchester City's scouts have often come from England.”

Meanwhile, Sassuolo general director Nereo Bonato has acknowledged the interest from the Premier League sides but also said, “We have received accreditation requests to view our games in recent times from English clubs such as Liverpool and Southampton. Berardi has important qualities and certainly he deserves attention, but I think the guy has yet to grow and that Sassuolo is the right place for him to do it.”

Liverpool are in dire need of new strikers and Brendan Rodgers is most likely to make the first move for the young Italian striker. Although Sassuolo are keen on retaining their coveted striker, the second division club could be tempted to sell if the striker's performances trigger a bidding war in the coming transfer window.
