The Andre Santos saga that involved him swapping shirts at half time with Robin Van Persie has resulted in much anger amongst the fans. The Brazilian has in fact not been performing up to the mark and remains a weak link in Arsenal's defence.
According to reports in CaughtOffside, Arsenal may now look to sign another left back and the player they may look to bring in is PSV's Jetro Willems. The 18-year old has made just 29 appearances for PSV in the Eredivisie so far and has reportedly impressed Arsene Wenger.
The veteran manager is extremely adept at signing promising young players for relatively less prices and one feels that if the player has impressed him, then he is bound to be a success at the Emirates.
The Gunners though also have another left back in the form of Kieran Gibbs, although the 23-year old has been plagued by injuries and has not managed to put in a string of appearances for the club.
Given Arsenal's track record, a move in the January transfer window may not be in the offing, but a bid at the end of the season could very well materialize. Too often in recent times have Arsenal fans had to deal with news of players departing, perhaps this development will give them some respite.
